So this is what it looks like when you let your five year old feed the baby. Actually, she was doing a really good job...until I looked away to empty the dishwasher. When I looked up to check on them, she was gone and he was smearing his hand over his tray. I don't think we'll do that again for awhile ;-)

Ok...I have a funny, well, not so funny valentine story to share.

We decided to watch You've Got Mail for our little valentine's day movie. We went to Walmart earlier in the day to buy it and with a $9.00 copy in my hand, my husband says, hey, my dad has that movie...lets just borrow his. Ok....I go along with it.

We can't get a hold of his dad all day and when we finally do, he had let someone borrow his copy. No worries, we'll just rent it, only to find out every video store in town has rented out all their copies. So, I decide to just go ahead and buy the movie. At 6:00pm with snow blowing all around me, I go to the walmart closest to my house...sold out, I go back to the walmart further down the street where I had the copy in my hand earlier that day...sold out....target sold out, best buy closed, last resort was borders who had only one copy left for $16.00.....needles to say, we did enjoy our movie last night!!

Anyone want to borrow it....I have the golden copy!

Snow Day Craft

So, what did we do on our snow day?? Well, Grandpa came over and helped the kids build a snowman. Later that day, the kids made watercolor valentines. They had so much fun and were very proud of the finished product. We even sent a few out in the mail to some really lucky people!

I've been away for quite some time....put the majority of my shop on hold for awhile and just took a little breather. Things just got to be too hectic here at home and I wasn't able to keep up with my Etsy orders. But, I'm feeling good about things now and am opening up my full inventory again....well, almost everything is for sale again. I did have to remove a few items, but hopefully they won't be missed ;-)

St. Louis

We recently took a trip with the kids to St. Louis. There is so much to do there with them and the zoo and Grant's Farm are FREE! It is about 2 1/2 hours away, so the car ride isn't too bad either---with plenty of snacks and drinks of course ;-)

Lampwork breast cancer bracelet

New football hat

It's been awhile since I've created a new themed hat and I owe this one to my friend Melody. She is patiently awaiting the birth of her fourth son and she asked me to create a football hat to complete his special take home outfit. I must admit, I did procrastinate just a tad as I always do, but this is what I created for her. I loved it so much I immediately listed it in my Etsy shop and made one for my little guy. Knitty Bitty Bug Box

Finally....a new post. I've been meaning to get a new one out....really I have. I just haven't sat down to do it. And, I'm sorry to admit, I haven't even checked in on any of my fellow bloggers either...sorry!!

I'll tell you what prompted my efforts this a.m. for this post was a custom request I had received through Etsy last night. A woman had wanted a custom bracelet set for her and her daughter. She had seen a previous post of mine for a set I had made for a friend and her daughter---it had lampwork beads, freshwater pearls, and butterfly charms. So, I thought, I guess people really do read this.....so I'd better get a new post up ;-)

Anyways, all is well here. I've been swamped already with orders. I guess since fall is right around the corner, people are thinking about knit hats. My biggest seller by far right now is my little green pea pod hat. If you don't know what I'm talking about, please check out my Etsy shop for yourself---it's one of my featured items.

On to new business....I made this set for a friend of ours who recently had a little boy named Carter. I've had these little bug boxes for years now and I've been meaning to use them with my bug hats. I love the way the set turned out. Do you know anyone who is going to be having a baby and need a special and unique gift?? I also have them for girly bug hats and bees. Just let me know and I can get one of these out to you ;-) Now to just get it listed in my Etsy shop........

Sam's gift

My aunt has been on my case for a new blog post....so here it goes. I really did think I'd have more time to sit and blog more, but I have no idea why----now with a newborn to look after, the days fly be even faster than before ;-)

I'd like to share a really great gift Sam received from Suzy Bee's Surprises. It consisted of several burp cloths, onesies, and the most perfect blanket EVER!! It's the cutest material of a brown backround with colorful circles---perfect for a boy. And, the softest minky material is on the reverse. Best thing about it is that it is the PERFECT size for the carseat. Even in the hotest weather, I don't leave the house without it because I still cover him up in the car, and it seems like all air conditioned buildings are on the chilly side, so I use it all the time. And, I don't have to fold it or bunch it up.....it's.....just the perfect size. Are you wanting one??? You can find them here. I promise you won't be disappointed!!

It's a BOY!!

Well, on Monday, June 8th, I had baby number three---Samuel Joseph. He was 6 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long. Delivery was a breeze and adjusting at home hasn't been too bad. The hardest things are now the night-time feedings, which hopefully won't last more than a few months, and making sure my other two don't hurt him. They are doing extremely well with him, but tend to be a little rough and want to always be in his face ;-)

Even though my store is officially closed, the orders have been pouring in, which is a good thing....as I have been finding time to get things made right now....we'll see how things go.

Strawberry picking

We went strawberry picking yesterday....probably not the best time to go. The season is just about over and it was a rather cool day here---in the low 60's (which it has been in the uppper 80's) so the kids complained they were cold, their feet were wet, they had to go potty, the berries were not very plentiful and the ones they could find were either rotten or dirty so they couldn't eat them. Sound like fun ;-)

No, it wasn't that bad. We managed to pick about 9 pounds. Not quite the experience we had last year---I think we picked over 35 pounds and canned jam, but not this year---too many other things going on. Just picked enough to eat for the next few days.

I figured I'd better get in at least one more post before baby number three is due. The big day Monday June 8th---or sooner. I'm ready any time now!! I closed down my Etsy and Ebay shops for a few weeks---just until things settle into somewhat of a routine---well, as much of a routine as you can get with a newborn, 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old.

Amy Robertson just sent me some new pics for my shop last night---how precious are these!! I sooo wish she lived near me so she could photograph my newborn---I'd love to have these pics with my own little one.

This is my pea pod hat again---she did a similar shot with this one, but I like how their little arm and leg are falling out of the pea pod.

This one is my little sweet pea hat---it doesn't have a pea pod and curl---just a cute little leaf.

Suzy Bees Surprises

Ok, I'm sure you all know by now about Christa's birthday, so I guess it's time for a new post. I have been so bad here lately. But, I'm thinking once the baby comes---in about 3 1/2 weeks now, I'll have plenty of time to get on the computer---especially around 2 or 3 in the morning ;-)

Anyways, I wanted to share with you some of my newest Etsy purchases. They are both from Suzy Bees Surprises. The first are these really cute pouches. I love them---they are great for anything you want to tuck away and you can use them in your purse, travel bag, or as a little "pod" from your large purse if you are going out. The workmanship is outstanding and the I love the use of colors and patterns. I purchased one for myself, of course, and one as a gift. The recepient LOVED it, and I actually used it as a gift bag by putting another gift inside it!

The second item from Sue's store are these appliqued towels. I actaully have two sets for everyone in my family. There is just something a little bit special about monograming. See how good they look in the bathroom!!

I just love to make gifts for my friends and family, and today is my friend Christa's birthday from motivating mommies. She is thirty something today and had the similar experience this a.m. I had on my birthday. Here mom and husband "forgot" about her special day, until she gently reminded them. But, I didn't forget and created her this lampwork bracelet this a.m. I just love it---it's so colorful and springy. Wish I had enough beads to create one for myself, but, I'd probably give that one away too!

Mother-daughter bracelet set

A friend of mine asked me awhile back to make her a coordinating mother and daughter bracelet set. Her only request was that it had the colors of one of the shabby chic bedding lines at Target. Do you know what I'm talking about?? That collection is soo cute---I have some for Josie's room. Anyways, I found the lampwork bead set on Ebay and went to work. She also requested a butterfly charm on them. They turned out really pretty and she liked them too!!

I know this is a little late, but I just had to share this little guy for you. Maybe you'll remember it and use it for next year. My Aunt Robin made this chick out of two styrofoam balls, some yarn, feathers, and two pipe cleaner feet. Isn't he adorable?

Hello again! So, are you sick and tired of those organza flowers?? Me too. Sorry for the very long absence. I moved into a new house, closed up shop for awhile, and just felt unispired to blog. I didn't even check anyone else's blog for that matter....so for that, sorry guys---I know I missed a lot.

I recently had a photographer contact me to do some pictures with my hats and she is absolutely AMAZING!!! I'll tell you, I've had soo many photographers in the past contact me for discount or even free hats in exchange for pictures.....and unfortunately, I never receive what's promised. But, Amy assured me, she'd take good care of me....and here's what she sent so far. Aren't they absolutely precious??? I wish she lived near me so she could photograph my newborn in June!!

Organza flowers

I was on Etsy recently browsing and I saw the prettiest pin/brooch. It was a beautiful layered flower made from organza, tulle, lace, etc. I almost purchased two as gifts, but then the crafter in me said, no, you could easily make them.

Now, I've had those urges hundred of times with other projects, gone out and purchased ALL the necessary supplies and sometimes made the project, sometimes not. But, usually spent way more than if I would have just purchased the item from someone else. But, this one actually worked out in my favor. The materials were very inexpensive and I made four of them in no time for gifts. Well, actually I did keep one for myself---which I never do ;-)

I put mine on my new chocolate brown jacket and it looks soo pretty and femanine. I'm thinking I'll add them to my shop after my move.

And, I guess it's past time that I've shared with all of you a little something new about myself. Well, it's not really new to the people who actually know me, but I'm expecting another bundle of joy in June!! I'm about 5 1/2 months now and just starting to get my little baby bump. Here are the ultra sound pics from about two weeks ago, and the gender will be a surprise at birth. Don't you just love that ;-) Any of you out there have three or more and want to share any tips for managing three little ones?

New Chick Bracelet

I made this little chick bracelet today and just listed it in my Etsy shop. I think it's just adorable. I did have little fuzzy chicks like these last year which sold out. So, I received a new shipment of them a few weeks ago and decided to design a completely different bracelet. I only wish Josie would wear hers. I threaten her and tell her I'm going to give it to some other little girl, but it doesn't phase her ;-)

Knitty Bitty Bunny Bracelet

Here's my newest creation---isn't it so cute? I wanted to make a bunny bracelet last year, and time got away from me. So, I'm way ahead of the game this year! Josie wanted the one I made, so it must be a good one.

I wanted to add just a little more color to it, so I came up with the crystal carrot charm. I also have a new fuzzy headed chick bead waiting to be made into a bracelet, but that's for another day.

horse hat and snow day

When the kids woke up yesterday, they saw our first "big" snowfall of the year---about an inch of snow. I know it's not much, but we don't generally get much snow here in southern Indiana. The kids loved playing in it and loved eating it even more.

A customer contacted me awhile back to make her a horse hat with a white forelock. I didn't know what that was, but she explained it to be the hair that hangs down infront of the horses eyes. So, this is what I came up with. She loved it!

Two Blue Bird Bracelets

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine had asked me if I could make her and her mom a bluebird bracelet. She said that her and grandma call their little girl who is a year old "blue bird" So, her only request was that it had a blue bird on it. I found the little glass birds on Ebay and designed the bracelets around that.

I have no clue what she really had in mind, so hope this is it. They turned out really colorful and I love the bead combinations with the mixture of glass beads and crystals. Hope they like them too ;-) Have a great day!

Happy New Year!! Ok....so I'm a little late...what's new ;-) Hope you all had a GREAT Christmas and New Years. Both were wonderful for us. With the kids being 2 and 4 this year, Christmas was a blast----they loved opening up all their gifts. After things settled down, Josie served us all "tea" with her new tea set.

For New Years, we went out with our Friends, Christa (from Motivating Mommies) and her husband Jay. We had dinner at a nice restaurant then to a nice hotel that had a lounge in it. It was really pretty inside, and very hip and retro---for our town anyways.

Here's a pic of the bar. And, we managed to stay up past midnight---which doesn't happen every year.

I even managed to whip up a necklace and pair of earrings for my friends daughter. She called me three days before her daughter's dance to ask me if I could make a cheetah themed set. I was really nervous as I didn't know what her daughter liked and she couldn't pick it up until the day of the dance---and you know how teenage girls are. Turned out, she LOVED it---and I'm commissioned to make her prom jewelry.

Sweet swap and newest creations

I hope you are all ready for Christmas---only two days left! My husband went out last night with the kids in tote. What a crazy man---two days from Christmas, shopping with two kids who love to pull things off the shelves, not to mention it's like 10 degrees here. And, he said he's going out again. Yes, I'd say he's a procrastinator. But, who am I to talk?

Are you asking why he was taking the kids with him? I went to a "sweet swap" last night with the ladies from my mommy and me aerobics group---you know the instructor, Christa, from motivating mommies. Anyways, we had to bring about 5 dozen of one kind of sweet (depending on the number of people swapping)---whatever you wanted to bring. You of course have a tasting throughout the night, then, before you go home, you get to make a beautiful tray of assorted cookies, fudge, and candies. Plus, it makes you look like an amazing baker---if you don't want to tell otherwise ;-) It was so much fun with good food, drinks, and fellowship with an amazing group of women. You should try one next year!

Anyways, I wanted to share with you my latest projects. I've been on a beading kick the past few days---and I've made a bunch of new bookmarks. I think they are really colorful and pretty. I have them here on my desk all hanging over a crystal glass and I just love looking at them---a bouquet of bookmarks. Maybe I'll end up keeping one---I've made one for myself several times over and of course, given it away. But, I can always make more, right?

And, here are a few bracelets and necklaces I've come up with for my Etsy shop. Now I just have to take the time to list them. My favorite new project that I made I can't share yet because it's a gift for my Aunt who reads my blog, so I'll have to share that one after Christmas.

Christmas Card

Hi Everyone!! Did anyone miss me? Sorry I've had such a lack of posts over the past week and a half. The time has really just slipped away.....that ALWAYS happens this time of year. Rush, Rush, Rush. I have been so busy wrapping up orders, both the kids had birthdays, and we hosted a large Christmas party. Blogging has definitely taken a back seat....the last thing on the list, and it never got checked off....until Today.

I was able to get up early, real early...before the kids...like 4:30a.m. I love to get up that early. You can just get soooo much done. I made three tooth fairy bracelets for a customer, designed 2 other ones, and made two necklaces. A very productive morning for me! I'll post those pics tomorrow, but for this one, I wanted to share my Christmas card with you.

Every year since the kids have been born, we've done a family photo for our card----and it's always in front of a roaring fire with our stockings hanging over our head. Well, this year, time again slipped away from us and we decided to use one of our pics from St. George Island. I think it turned out really cute.

Custom Striped Hat

Who doesn't love a kid in a cute striped hat? They are so fun and colorful and I don't really make enough of them! I recently had a customer contact me to make her three striped hats. I won't tell you how many times she changed her mind on the striped pattern, but the results are really cute!! I hope she likes them. I only messed up on one of them, so my friend Christa, from Motivating Mommies got a freebie this week.

With much hesitation, I decided to officially close my Ebay and Etsy shops this a.m. I really hated to do that this early, but I'm still backed up from Thanksgiving and I have several of my own personal projects I would like to get done for Christmas gifts. I really do feel guilty about closing this early and without any warning, but I feel as if things are starting to really creep up on me and I don't want to get all stressed out during the holidays ;-) What a thing to get stressed about too----too many orders! I NEVER thought it would be like this when I opened my Ebay store two and a half years ago followed by Etsy a year after that.

I am wanting to finish that pair of socks for my husband---remember the ones from the beach? Well, I've done about an inch more on them and that's it. So, a LONG way to go. Also, I've promised my husband I'd make him this certain sweater he's been wanting for years now and I actually started on it this summer and well, haven't touched it since. So, I'd love to finish that up for him as a Christmas gift.

So, I'd just like to thank everyone again for ALL their support over this past year---it's been a very busy and fun year!!

Gotta go, the kids are calling me---and ALWAYS when I get on the computer (or the phone) Why is that?!?

Ok....notice anything different about my blog today?? Yes, it received a whole new make-over. Don't you just love it?? I do!! My friend Andrea from And then there were three mentioned that she wanted to start designing blogs. She is just getting started and has redesigned hers several times now. She is completely self-taught and I loved her work that I've seen on her own blog. I eagerly offered to be her first customer. And, I just love the results.

Andrea was a dream to work with. I just picked a package design that I like---it had the colors that I was looking for and let her creativity do the rest. She was so open to any changes that I had---and there were just a few----and the whole experience was wonderful. Not to mention she was so quick!!

A bracelet to remember

About two weeks ago, a friend had told us that she had just lost her baby---she was about 13 weeks along. She was shocked as she had no clue anything was wrong. She contacted me and asked me if I could make a little bracelet with footprints on it as a little remembrance of the pregnancy. I was delighted to do this for her and so happy that she had thought of me to make this special bracelet for her. Her only request was that it had crystals and pearls on it. Since she was only 13 weeks, they couldn't tell if that baby was a boy or girl yet, so I chose clear crystals. And, I absolutely love freshwater coin pearls. I put a butterfly toggle on it and I just love the footprint charm I found on Ebay. I'm going to show it to her today---I hope she likes it. Have a great day today!!

something for myself

Sorry for the lack of posts here lately. I cannot tell you how busy I've been making my little hats---the holiday rush is in full force---until the middle of December. So, only a few weeks to go, so, I shouldn't complain ;-)

I also had some out of town company---my Aunt Robin and Grandma drove up from Arkansas for a long visit. When we see each other, you'd think it were Christmas time---literally. We shower each other with the best "girly" gifts---it is sooo much fun!!

My aunt had got me this new yarn she found at a yarn shop in Arkansas. It's called Ozark Handspun and it's just about the neatest yarn ever. It's 65% mohair and 35% wool and it is hand dyed and hand spun in the ozarks. You can find it here. What makes it so neat is that is is ever changing---there are long pieces of curly mohair next to "matted" pieces of wool and it is just the best color combinations: moss green to plum with a cranberry shimmer throughout.

I loved knitting this scarf and it made up easily in two nights. She also provided me with these really cool needles topped with handmade polymer clay beads---just lovely! They really made the whole project fun--having new needles ;-) I never make anything for myself and on the rare occasion that I do, I end up giving the items away, but this is one project that is all mine!

The finished product---I think I'm going to add fringe with ribbon in it for each end.

Micro Preemie Hat

So, this is a special little hat I've been working on this morning. A customer contacted me the other day asking if I could make micro preemie hats. She said her friend was getting ready to have her baby at 25 weeks and she'd love to have a few little hats for her. I had no clue what the size of a micro preemie would be, just really teeny tiny. She said the hat should fit a small plum. Can you even imagine? This is the sample I came up with. I'm going to mail it to her today and see what adjustments I'll need to make, if any. Isn't it just precious? I don't know exactly what hats she wants to order, but I'm thinking an apple is a must, don't you ;-)

I just have to share this little pumpkin with you---isn't she just precious?? And, would you believe her mom is justarika---yes, she's the one who was the original winner of my contest and never responded so I had to pick another winner. She wrote and told me who she was I just chuckled ;-)

I also want to share these few pics of the kids really quickly this a.m. I have hundreds and I'll post a really nice family one maybe next time. I just love outdoor pictures of the kids. The lighting is just perfect and I love to catch them when they are not looking.

Thanks to Sharon from Mana Moon, I figured out my picture upload problem. Really simple to fix, but I won't have been able to fix it myself---so thanks again Sharon.

We spent an entire week on St. George Island, Florida in a beach front beach house. It was beautiful---the house, the beach, the ocean, and a really good time was had by all! I was able to get in a few creative days making some beaded items for Christmas gifts---I'll post them later and I'm working on a pair of socks for my husband using the magic loop. It's super easy and a lot of fun. Usually a pair of socks takes 4 needles all in use at once, but with the magic loop, you only need one ;-) I was hoping to finish one sock while I was there, but only got about this far. When you had an ocean view and the kids playing in the sand, it was hard to keep focused on a sock. More to come soon.......

Final Birthday post

Well, after being "upset" with hubby for most of the day, he did redeem himself---with a little help from my friend, Christa. She just couldn't help herself and she had to call him at work to remind him of my big day. He played it off and said he didn't forget and that he usually brings me a card and treat after he gets home from work---he said "don't worry, she'll be taken care of" Christa was lead to believe he knew all along. Needless to say, he left work early to purchase a card, flowers, and a BEAUTIFUL ruby necklace---so of course, I was totally overwhelmed--I LOVE jewelry, and he's the kind of man who doesn't think it is "necessary" Then, we did go have my birthday dinner at the mexican restraunt with our good friends--from motivating mommies---and they even treated! So, what a wonderful birthday after all!! I Love you Joe!! And, thank you Christa!

I also did receive a beautiful birthday bouquet and balloons (for the kids) from my wonderful Aunt---who I often post about---thank you again!

Ok---so it's now 3:00 and he still hasn't said a word...I did talk to him twice today. Once he called and asked me if it would be ok if he could go to his Uncles house to help him with putting in some insulation--which is really legit AND he called back to ask what was for dinner (I'm laughing now about that one) He said, "let's have something with pasta in it". I guess I'll leave out a box of mac and cheese and the kids and I are going out to eat Mexican (where I go every year for my b-day) after Josie's swim lesson at the Y. Too funny!!

I'm finally going to post again. Did you miss me? I've been back from the wedding, and I don't know why, but I just didn't sit down to post over the past week. Maybe a lack of things to say, I don't know. And, believe it or not, I didn't ready anyone else's blog either---sorry!!! I know, that's bad...and I'm going to try really hard to get caught up on everyone. I'm sure I missed a ton over the past week.

The wedding did go really well and her is a pic of my little flower girl. She is quite the professional now---this was her fourth one---and she's not even four yet. My husband and I joke that we can rent her out ;-)

And, last night, we made a Halloween house with the kids. Have you ever seen them in the stores? They tease you with these amazing looking houses decorated with icing and candies and I know they are done by professionals who have probably made at least 20 of them and have skills beyond the normal person so yours will not look remotely like the picture of the box, but the kids love them!

I'm getting ready to go out of town for another wedding this weekend---and yes, Josie is going to be a flower girl again! I have to make her basket tonight and we'll head out in the morning. I'm just so excited to see all my family from out of town!

And, look what arrived today.....YES....it's my new bracelet from Mana Moon Treasures and it is absolutely gorgeous!! Not only is the bracelet amazing, but the packaging made it such a treat to open. The handmade cards were so cute and all the tags were just so....so professional. This really belongs in a high end boutique...you know the kind I'm talking about...with the REALLY good stuff in it---that you don't dare take your kids into ;-)

I put it on immediately and went out to lunch with a friend today and she loved it too. It is truly going to be an heirloom piece. It's just stunning....really....you have to see it to appreciate it! Thank you a million times Sharon----I LOVE it!!!

Isn't this just the cutest looking baby---and hat! A former customer (Susan) recently contacted me to see if I could make this hat for her....sure I said! Well, we scoured the internet and craft stores in search of the most similar yarn we could find....and Susan actually found it. I've never seen a yarn like this before. It is sooo much fun to work with---it stripes and patterns all by itself---no patterns or yarn changes needed---it's MAGIC! Here is is below.

And, here is what I've come up with so far. She wanted the brim and ear flaps to be orange and blue. So, I still have to add the ear flaps and ties and the pom pom on top....but so far so good.... I just hope Susan like it :-)

Of course, I did have to get some for myself for Josie and Quentin.

I was sooo surprised today with a very special package from Australia!! It was from my new friend Rosey from agapanthas and goldsworthy How sweet is that---a "just because package". I have never received such a package and just love the idea! It included lots of goodies: a special note and drawing from her girls, a wonderful hand written note from Rosey, little painted rocks for myself and both the kids, a treat for both kids, a sweet little pressed lavender flower---(which smelled really good), a new crafters magazine, and two lovely hand stitched softies. I just LOVE it all---so very thoughtful and personal---I can't thank you enough---I'm so very touched! Kisses to you ALL---Rosey, Lili, Mia, and Claudia!!

Are you wondering where we went on our long weekend? We braved a camping trip---with an almost 2 and 4 year old. We went to Lincoln State Park---it's Abe Lincoln's boyhood home, and it went surprisingly well. They kids had a great time exploring, sleeping in a tent, and getting very, very dirty. At one point, they wanted to fill a cracker box full of dirt and rocks and pour it over their head. Are you cringing? Yes, I did too--but my husband said, we're camping, they are supposed to get dirty. Typical male---of course, he didn't have to clean them up ;-) Here are just a few camping pics.

Don't you just love fall? I'd say it is my favorite season. I love all the colors, the cooler crisp air, pumpkins, cozy sweaters, my jeans, leaves....I could go on and on. I have my house all decorated for the season too. The mums and pumpkins are out. I have my cornstalks and scarecrow on the porch, my light up fall village on the mantle, and fall floral arrangements throughout. Are you ready for fall yet?

I guess with the cooler air, people are ordering lots of knit baby hats. I have been crazy busy with orders---so busy, that I haven't had much free time to post---and I do hate that! I've mostly been selling pumpkins and my newest creation---the little ghost. I just love him. Funny thing is, I haven't seen him on yet. I need to make Quen one and see how it looks---probably even cuter on than just sitting here on my desk looking at me.

I have had a few new creations in the works too. Here are a few with my new focal beads. Do you like them? You can purchase them in my Etsy shop soon....just have to list them....

A few weeks ago, my little girl found the Peter Pan movie and has really taken a liking to Tinkerbell. I found these Tink beads and last night, Josie and I created this. She picked out the green pearls and the blue crystals---she wanted green for the dress and blue for her headband. Josie tends to be quite detailed for a 3 1/2 year old. Tink even has a sprinkle of pixie dust on her---love it!

Rice Krispy Friday

Do you ever make Rice Krispy Treats? I never made them until a few months ago with the kids. They are actually really, really good. We are going to a football game tonight, so we decided to make them and bring them to the game with our usual items. For the games, the kids always load up their backpacks with the usual treats: popcorn, peanuts, fruit snacks, at least on piece of candy, and their drink. And, yes, we usually do eat before we go to the games. So, tonight we'll add one more thing. I can just see it now.....twenty very sticky, very dirty fingers ;-)

Ghostly Onesie

I just got the ghost onesie done to coordinate with the new hat---for the lady whose newborn is going to be a ghost for Halloween. She originally just requested a onesie with the word boo on it, but I couldn't resist these cute little ghosts. I think I'll embroider Boo near the bottom or top of the ghost if she wants that on there too. I wonder which she'll like better? My little Quen is definitely going to get this set!

Last night I made this bracelet as a gift for my Aunt in Georgia. She let me borrow some very special chocolate sucker molds for a bachelorette party----so I'm sure you can image what they were molds of. I had gotten these silver noodle beads awhile back and I've been wanting to make something with them. I'm hoping she'll wear it to work. Anyone else want one ;-) ?

Finally, today is my Anniversary!! Eight years of wedded bliss...and many many more!!!

Marcy's Dream Wedding

First, I must apologize for my lack of posts over the past week. I have been consumed with getting the last minute details I promised to get done for the bride, and keeping up with hat orders really kept me busy and I literally found no time to sit and post. So, I just wanted to share a few pics of my sil's dream wedding. It was held at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. This was a beautiful place---it looked like it was surrounded by a quiet little village and the ceiling was dome shaped with the moon and stars lit up on it.......absolutely dreamy!

Here is a picture to show you the bride----really the most beautiful bride I've ever seen!

Here's one for my Aunt Robin....she's always on me to get nice pictures of myself with my husband. I'm always the picture taker, so I rarely get in on any of the shots ;-) He was a groomsman in the wedding, and I was a bridesmaid. How lucky to be so close to my sil, Marcy, that she would choose to have me in her wedding! I was honored.

This was the bride's maids jewerly. I made all the necklaces for them---they turned out beautiful. I did also make these earrings for the bride which she wore to the rehersal. They are a smokey quartz---really beautiful.

Apple hats.....and PURDUE!!

I just finished up an order for three apple hat that are now on their way to Massachusetts for a mom and her two kids to wear while apple picking this fall. They turned out so cute. She wanted them to match her new Gymboree outfits----shown here. I hope she sends me a picture or two!!

I'd have to say that of ALL the hats the different hats that I make, and it's quite a few, the apple is by far my all time favorite. It is actually the first hat I ever made. I was at the local yarn shop one day browsing for more scarf yarn---- all that I had made at the time was scarves---and on top of a shelf was the most precious little baby hat I'd ever seen---a little red apple. I just had to make it---and at the time I had no kids. So, I made this hat and was so proud of myself. I put it in my hope chest for my firstborn. Josie wore it in the hospital, and my son wore one too. They are perfect for boys and girls and I just love the red color. Would you like one too?? You can find them in my Etsy shop here.

I'm going on a little vacation this weekend. My sil---not the one getting married next weekend---but my other one called a few days ago wanting to know if she could watch the kids this weekend at her house. She lives about 3 1/2 hours away. I don't know if she really knows what she is getting herself into, but we agreed and thought we'd go back down memory lane and go to Purdue for the weekend---where we first met our freshman year---while living in the same dorm---yeah for co-ed dorms ;-) Anyways, looking forward to some time alone with my hubby. flower girl baskets

My sil is getting married next weekend and she called me on Sunday wanting me to look at some flower girl baskets she found on Etsy. I looked at them and thought they were really cute---they looked like moss covered baskets with a ribbon handle---and they were 30 dollars a piece. That didn't include any flowers on them. And, she needs three of them---so it was going to be about 100 dollars for three baskets that she was going to have to embellish herself. So.....I told her I'd find something for her. Off I went to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies and about two hours later, I made three baskets cheaper than 30 dollars. I'm pretty proud of myself, and I think they are just adorable. I just hope the bride like them ;-)

I can hardly wait to see Josie walking down the isle with hers!!

New things at Knitty Bitty Apparel

I had the creative bug this week and used up some more of my rather large and growing stash of polymer clay beads. I just love those and I can't seem to stop buying them. I'm buying more of them before I even use the ones I have. Slight addiction I suppose!

The best zucchini bread---EVER

I've had this really large zucchini in my fridge for over a week now that someone gave me from their garden---I've decided to finally use it today and make some zucchini bread. I absolutely love zucchini bread. It reminds me of coming home for weekends during college and getting it as a special treat. I had the best mother in law in the world---really! My husband and I met and started dating our freshman year at Purdue. I quickly came to love his family and always wanted to go to visit them on the weekends. His mom always "made" the most delicious food for us for the entire weekend---and some to take back with us. I remember this as one of my favorite treats.

I do say "made" because she couldn't physically make anything herself, but she kept a watchful eye on others making it for her---on a table that she had at the foot of her bed---which was in the living room so she didn't miss out on anything!! She had a really long battle with lou gehrig's disease---over 20 years---and although it took her muscle strength and confined her to a bed, her mind was sharp as a tack--- and she had the most amazing memory. Anyways, this is her recipe and it absolutely wonderful---you should really try it!

1 1/2 c all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1 c sugar

1/4 c cooking oil

1/4 tsp lemon peel, finely shredded

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 c unpeeled zucchini, finely shredded

1 egg

1/2 c walnuts, chopped

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and nutmeg. In another bowl, combine the sugar, shredded zucchini, egg, cooling oil, and lemon peel. Mix well and add flour mixture: stir just until combined. Add nuts. Pour batter in a greased loaf pan and bake 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Apple bread: substitute the zucchini with shredded apples (I haven't tried, but sounds good)

Our first Triathalon

We had a very busy weekend---we participated in our first ever sprint triathalon. It was sponsered by the YMCA and consisted of a 1/2 half mile lake swim, a 19 mile (VERY HILLY) bike ride and a 3 mile run. We've been training since eary spring and we actually joined a training group in June that had a run, swim and bike coach. It was a wonderful experience and I really got in good shape. My goal was to finish the entire race in 2 hours and I did it in 1hr and 51 minutes, so I'm thrilled with that time. My hubby finished in 1 hr and 39 minutes. I'm trying to get Christa of motivating mommies to do it with me next year---she claims she doesn't swim in lakes---we'll just see about that!!

J Jill coordinating bracelet/earring set

Can you believe I just now have made my first pair of earrings? I know they are simple to make, but I just now took the time to make a pair---and they are not for me. I never keep anything I make---always give as gifts to others. This pair---with the matching bracelet is going to my Aunt Robin---from the tea party. I found the bracelet focal lampwork bead on Ebay---along with a ton of other beads....so more bracelets to come. The set is to coordinate with a new j jill shirt my Aunt and I just got. She works at j jill, so we get lots of things from there (yes, I am soo lucky!!) I'm thinking of listing the bracelet in my Etsy shop ;-)

Custom Knit Set

I just finished up this custom set for a customer on Etsy. She chose the colors, and I think they work perfectly together. I wonder if they were purchased for a set of twins---how cute would that be! I'm thinking my two need a set of these!!

All things TEA

This is the final entry about my tea party---can you tell I really enjoyed it? I just wanted to share a few things that I had gotten for it from two amazing Etsy sellers. As prizes for the party, my grandma made aprons, potholders, and pillowcases. I made bracelets with a teapot on them, my teapot bookmarks, and my Aunt Sue made the cutest tea towels. I was so very tempted to keep them for myself---I LOVED them. But, I actually decided to put together a little goodie tote (also tea themed) for my sil to remember her special day with.

I included all the tea themed items from above in this super cute tote I found on Etsy. The tote can be found here, PintsizeHome, and you won't believe the prices!!

These are the teapot bracelets that I made for my sil, prizes, and of course, one for my Aunt and myself to wear during the party ; -)

Finally, these amazing tea towels were made by my Aunt Sue from SuzyBeesSurprises and you can find her here. The bride to be just loved them!! She also sent my kids their own initial towel (which she carries in her shop) with a bar of soap, and they couldn't wait to wash their hands. They are just perfect!!!

Tea Party Favors

As promised, here's another entry about my tea party. This is the favors that were sitting at all the place settings when the guests arrived. I actually saw the idea online, and immediately knew that was what I wanted to have. They were actually a little pricey, but I searched around and found the labels on Ebay and some of the tea bag/spoon rests came from a craft store and the rest I purchased on line. Everyone loved them and they were a cinch to make. I just love the personalized tea bags. They are just individually wrapped tea bags from the store and then you just stick your label over the top of them. Then, I just packaged them in clear candy bags and topped with a bow!

Bridal Tea Party

Over the weekend, I hosted a Bridal Tea Party for my sister in law with my Aunt and Grandma from Arkansas. It was a huge success---and a lot of fun. The essentials of a great tea are: lots of mismatched china, fresh flowers, finger foods, doilies, hankies, and anything girly and pretty. My aunt also has an assortment of vintage hats that the guest can try on. My grandma loves to make aprons, potholders, and pillowcases for the prizes for the games---which were the hit of the party. I'll post more details tomorrow....too many orders to catch up on today!!!

Custom Cheerleader Bracelet

I absolutely love shopping on Etsy!! If you've never looked there, you should. You can find just about anything you are looking for, and the best thing is, it is all handmade. I just love the idea that the item I'm looking for was lovingly handmade by another person, and not mass produced in some factory overseas. I have purchased a lot from Etsy over the past year and I LOVE everything I've gotten. It is just the best place to find one of a kind gifts for everyone.

So, here is my latest purchase. It's from Under the Moon and it is absolutely amazing. It arrived so professionaly packaged and quickly. I love the chain---it's so dainty and it's going to be perfect for dress up or everyday use. It comes with a choice of white or peacock pearl and I chose the white. Two new bracelets: Tooth Fairy & Daisy with Ladybug

I've had these bracelets done for quite some time now----just getting around to editing the pics. The kids slept in today, so I was able to get a little computer work done. I really like the way they turned out. They should be available in my Etsy shop later today. I also have my fall/halloween bracelets done, but I'll post those tomorrow....

Peach Pie anyone?

I made the most delicious, not to mention pretty peach pie yesterday. Before I left for my trip, a friend had brought over a basket of peaches from the local orchard. By the time I got back, they were absolutely golden rip---and so juicy---you know the kind.....by the second bite, juice is running down into your hand. And, they were soo sweet. So, I decided to make a pie. On my trip to Nebraska, we went to Williams and Sonoma and I got some really cute pie crust cutters ( as well as a few other treats ; -) and I was really wanting to try them out!

Knitty Bitty Apparel is officially open for business!!

We had a nice trip----but A LOT of driving. Yesterday I drove/rode 15 hours in the car with my two little ones, but I must say, they traveled REALLY well, and we are glad to be home.

I did get an order while I was gone---I just finished up this little lemon hat. It is perfect for a boy or a girl---it's a really pretty shade of yellow---soft and buttery---not that really hard yellow that lemons really are.

I'm including a few pics from the trip. They include myself, my two kids, and my two nieces. They had such a ball playing with eachother. But, as you can imagine, there was a lot of taddeling, fighting, and with all little girls, crying ; -)

I've tidied up the shop, and I just put all my orders in the mail. It's such a good feeling to be completely "caught up" with orders. It really doesn't happen too often---I always have projects lingering around, but when I go out of town, I have to get everything caught up. I'm going to be leaving tomorrow to visit family and I'll be returning on Tuesday. I wanted to get a vacation banner for my Etsy shop and found mana moon studios. She made the cutest banner for me in less than 24 hours. I just love it---and everyone will know I'm on vacation!

Angelina Ballerina Necklace

I'm just thrilled to finally say that my little girl actually likes something that I made for her. I purchased this angelina ballerina bead months ago with the intentions of making her a bracelet. When I got the bead, it was much larger that I anticipated----so I made a necklace out of it. I LOVE the way it turned out and I'm just tickled that Josie wants to wear it. I made it yesterday morning and she hasn't wanted to take it off. Anyone else want one ; - ) I thinking I'm going to be making lots more necklaces!!

Pink Sweet Peas and Cream

I just now finished this little hat up. The photographer, Cari Lyn, did decide she wanted a pink striped hat to go with the set. I love the way this one turned out---I always like pink hats ; - ) I did use darker color peas---can you even tell? I'll be listing them in my Etsy shop----anyone interested?

New Tooth Fairy Beads

Here is my newest set of beads. Aren't they just precious!! I just love them. I got them because my daughter just loves the tooth fairy---and she's only three and a half. We've talked about the tooth fairy and how she leaves a coin under your pillow in the middle of the night when you leave her your tooth. So, whenever she finds a coin around the house she thinks it's from the tooth fairy. It's cute! So, I thought she'd like a tooth fairy bracelet. Hopefully I can make one this week and post it for you to look at. And, of course, I'll be carrying them in my shop!!

Ribbon Tied Jewelry Box

Hello!! Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I haven't been doing any creating or anything around the house for that matter for the past week or so. I had a family member in and out of the hospital two times in the past two weeks, so it's been crazy around here---and my schedule has been really off. So, hopefully I'm going to be getting back on track.

I came up with a new way to "gift wrap" my jewelry boxes. I think it turned out really cute---and a great way to use up those little scraps of ribbon that we all have. It is just one piece with the ends taped to the back and then I just tied on the other scrap piece. Voila!

This particular box is on its way to Illinois. It is filled with a watermelon bracelet and is packaged with the coordinating hat and onesie. It packaged up rather nicely ; - )

Sweet Peas and Cream

This is my newest hat creation---sweet peas and cream. Last week a very talented photographer, cari lyn, contacted me about creating these hats for her. She wanted them in newborn size to take pictures of her newborn clients. I CANNOT wait to see some of these pics---which she promised to share with me. I think I'll list them in my Etsy shop, but I'll create a pink one too!

Trio of Bitty Bugs

Here are the most recent things I've put in the mail. On the same day, I received orders for three bitty bug hats--- and one coordinating onesie. This is one of my favorite boy hats---I just love the green/blue stripes.

Wave Petunias

Don't you just love wave petunias? I plant them every year in front of my house and I'm amazed at the hundreds of flowers I have in just a month or so. I have several colors out there, but here are three shades of purple that I have. They will keep going until they get frosted out---usually making it to late October.

Watermelon Kids

Yesterday was REALLY HOT, so the kids tried to beat the heat with the hose and some watermelon. We just got a new sprayer for the hose that has about 10 different spray settings, and my daughter thinks it's just about the best thing in the world, right now anyways. And, my little boy really enjoyed eating the watermelon. After the first piece, he was sticky from head to toe---but Josie was there to hose him down ; - )

I just finished these cupcakes up yesterday and put them in the mail. Aren't they cute? I haven't done the blue/yellow color combo yet and I really like it. I haven't made any cupcakes in awhile, so they were kinda fun to make----I'm sure I'll have plenty more to do this fall ; - )

Fruit Pizza

I just saw this fruit pizza on Christa's blog and it looked so good, I had to try one for myself...with my little helper of course! Here's her recipe. I used everything except the low fat cream cheese---I went for the full fat ; - )

FRUIT PIZZA
1 roll of cookie dough
8oz lowfat or fatfree cream cheese (let stand room temp)
1/2 cup sugar
2 "dallops" of light cool whip (maybe about 1/4c)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Roll out cookie dough onto GREASED pan, mix above ingredients until well blended (hand mixer works well), spread onto cookie dough, and top with favorite fruit. Shown here are sliced strawberries, grapes, oranges and kiwi.

I just had a customer purchase the colorful cupcake bracelet from me and asked if I carried the coordinating necklace. I had never made necklaces before, but I figured it was just like a large bracelet. I did some research and found an average size for a little girl was 13 inches. So....this is what I came up with. Of course, Josie wanted that one, wanted to try it on, and insisted it was hers. So, guess what she will be getting....one more thing on the list, right? Anyways, anyone else interested ; - )
