Wave Petunias

Don't you just love wave petunias? I plant them every year in front of my house and I'm amazed at the hundreds of flowers I have in just a month or so. I have several colors out there, but here are three shades of purple that I have. They will keep going until they get frosted out---usually making it to late October.

Watermelon Kids

Yesterday was REALLY HOT, so the kids tried to beat the heat with the hose and some watermelon. We just got a new sprayer for the hose that has about 10 different spray settings, and my daughter thinks it's just about the best thing in the world, right now anyways. And, my little boy really enjoyed eating the watermelon. After the first piece, he was sticky from head to toe---but Josie was there to hose him down ; - )

Two little cupcakes sitting on my deck

I just finished these cupcakes up yesterday and put them in the mail. Aren't they cute? I haven't done the blue/yellow color combo yet and I really like it. I haven't made any cupcakes in awhile, so they were kinda fun to make----I'm sure I'll have plenty more to do this fall ; - )

Here's Josie in her cupcake---when she was about a year and a half and then when she was about 3---in the purple one.

Fruit Pizza

I just saw this fruit pizza on Christa's blog and it looked so good, I had to try one for myself...with my little helper of course! Here's her recipe. I used everything except the low fat cream cheese---I went for the full fat ; - )

FRUIT PIZZA
1 roll of cookie dough
8oz lowfat or fatfree cream cheese (let stand room temp)
1/2 cup sugar
2 "dallops" of light cool whip (maybe about 1/4c)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Roll out cookie dough onto GREASED pan, mix above ingredients until well blended (hand mixer works well), spread onto cookie dough, and top with favorite fruit. Shown here are sliced strawberries, grapes, oranges and kiwi.

Comfy chair

Well, he must be pretty comfy in his high chair. He just woke up, repositioned himself, and went back to sleep. Guess I'll just leave him there!

Sleepy Breakfast

I just caught my little one falling asleep while eating his breakfast today. Must not have been very good!

My first knitty bitty necklace---a colorful cupcake!

I just had a customer purchase the colorful cupcake bracelet from me and asked if I carried the coordinating necklace. I had never made necklaces before, but I figured it was just like a large bracelet. I did some research and found an average size for a little girl was 13 inches. So....this is what I came up with. Of course, Josie wanted that one, wanted to try it on, and insisted it was hers. So, guess what she will be getting....one more thing on the list, right? Anyways, anyone else interested ; - )

Father's Day Gift part 2

Well, this is what we came up with. I think they turned out really cute. It was a little hard writing in the cement------ it kept piling up on the sides, but other than that, I'm really happy with the whole project. I made little "photo marbles" with new pictures of the kids so I think they are going to really love them! The one for grandpa says We love Grandpa, and daddy's is a "Family Tree" It was actually featured on the box and I think it looks pretty close. We are going to Indy for the weekend, so I'm going to try to hide them in the car and have the kids give them to daddy and grandpa on Sunday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Father's Day Gift Part 1

Well, today we started our Father's Day gift---we are making one for Grandpa too. It's one of those stepping stones---I picked them up at Micheal's today. They are really neat---you can make little marbles with your own pictures in them. This is how they started----I'll show you what they look like tomorrow. I'm "hiding" them in the garage tonight ; 0

Potty Time

Well, it must run in the family. My daughter used to do this when she was potty training and I just now caught my son doing it---and he's not even potty training----YET! Good night!

New Blogger---Meet Christa!

Hello Everyone! Here is my good friend Christa. She just posted her first blog today so I wanted to give everyone her link so you can meet her too http://motivatingmommies.blogspot.com/.

She started as my aerobics instructor and has become such a wonderful friend. I'm so happy to have joined her class "Mommy and Me" a year and a half ago. Thanks to her, we have a place to exercise with our babies (and it's REALLY challenging too) , fellowship with other women, and just have an incentive to get out of the house----as you sometimes become a little house bound with little kids! She is such an inspiration and positive force. She is always doing and giving to others and is forever motivating us to better ourselves---I feel so lucky to have found her!!

Here's her pic---she's the blonde ; - )

Fun in the Sun

It's a fun day today. It's REALLY hot and muggy outside----so the kids are keeping cool in their pool. This is the best little pool too----I bought it from the Dollar General for five dollares and it's a great size and easy to take down. They have more fun getting in and out of the pool than anything.

If only All plumber's butts were this cute!

Look at my new beads!

Look what came in the mail today---lots of new beads. I can't hardly wait to make them into bracelets. I got some really cute 4th of July bugs and lots of different fall/halloween beads. I think I'm going to make a halloween cupcake to go with those beads---can you see them in the picture? It has a cute little bear holding a black and cream cupcake surrounded by cream and orange cupcakes. I'm thinking maybe a cream liner, orange frosting, and black sprinkles....we'll see. And, of course candy corns and pumpkins and the last one is a little mummy bear holding a little pumpkin pail. Too cute---I just had to get them. Now to find time to make new bracelets---pictures to follow soon!!!

Josie wanted to get her picture with the new beads.

Twenty Wishes

Anyone a Debbie Macomber fan? I've had a copy of her newest book for several weeks now and I'm just dying to start it. It takes place on Blossom Street---which is the setting for several other books in the series---and there is a yarn shop there---which I love. If you've never read any of her books, you should definitely try one. They are a very good read---easy to follow, super characters, and just good little stories.

The first book I ever read of hers was A Good Yarn several years ago. My aunt got me started on it. We like to read books "together"---even though we are several states away. I bought her a copy of Twenty Wishes as well and they are both sitting, together, on my bookshelf.....just waiting. I'm supposed to be driving to my Aunts sometime soon and I'll give her her copy so we can both start on them. But, I'm having a hard time waiting ; -)
P.S. Notice the cute bookmark? You can find them in my Etsy shop!
